The default installation of Capella includes a variety of features which are available for your use at the click of a mouse. You can manage chart cells,  switch between daylight and night colors, select traditional or modern symbols and show  a few importent symbols, a normal set of symbols or all symbols.  It 's all up to you to decide how much information you want on screen.

In the last ten years electronic chart systems(ECS) has evolved from simple bitmap systems to complex software managing a broad specter of ship navigation and safety.  Contrary to landbased map systems  ECS is highly standardized. Today all parts of  chart production, distribution and display is following international IHO standards.
